National Low-carbon Day Public Service Campaigns 2015 Opens in South China Agricultural University

In order to popularize the public’s awareness against climate change and increase their low-carbon consciousness, National Low-carbon Day Public Service Campaigns 2015 opens in South China Agricultural University today, which is centered on the topic of “Building up low-carbon city and creating a green future”, attracting almost 80 people to participate in.

Mr. jianwu Hong, the head, Mr. Yijun Chen, deputy head of Climate Change in Guangdong Development and Reform Commission, Mr. Xiaobo Zhang, inspector, Mr. Hong Wu, Resources, Environment and Climate, President Xiaoyang Chen of South China Agricultural University took part in the opening ceremony.

Mr. Hong made opening remarks that low-carbon development and low-carbon city construction needs joint efforts by all walks of life in a society where university students as crucial roles in future low-carbon city construction can not only help them with low-carbon consciousness, but also drive their relatives and friends to practice low-carbon lifestyle through low-carbon publicity and education.

At ten on the morning, the officers made a joint announcement that the Climate Change web Guangdong went online and National Low-carbon Day Public Service Campaigns 2015 opened.

Participants such as Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion of CAS, China Emissions Exchange (Guangzhou), Research Center of Low Carbon Technology and Economy, SYSU, Guangdong Climate Center, CEPREI Certification Body, UK-China (Guangdong) CCUS Center made exchanges through display on topics like climate change, low-carbon practices, low-carbon technologies, low-carbon cities, low-carbon life, low-carbon campus, low-carbon products, and carbon assets and trading.

The Center introduced Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage technology and CRP (Haifeng) plant CCUS Demonstration project. In addition, the Center attracted lots of university students and little children to participate in the activity through Q&A on low-carbon and a carbon capture game by using sodas, through which they understand more about low-carbon technologies and greenhouse gas effects.
