Dr Reiner is a political scientist andis currently University Senior Lecturer in Technology Policy at Cambridge JudgeBusiness School. David has advised government, industry and non-governmentalorganisations on energy and environmental policy, with a particular emphasis onthe politics of climate change and the social acceptability of carbon dioxidecapture and storage (CCS) and other energy technologies including smart metersand shale gas. He is frequently interviewed in national and international mediaincluding the BBC World Service, The New York Times, InternationalHerald Tribune, Bloomberg, Reuters, The Guardian and The DailyTelegraph.

David is alsoAssistant Director of the Energy Policy Research Group, and is a ResearchAssociate of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research andthe Carbon Capture and Storage Technologies Program, both at theMassachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He sits on the EPRG managementcommittee and the steering committee of the International Energy AgencyGreenhouse Gas Programme's Social Research Network. He has provided bothwritten and oral testimony before the House of Commons Committee on Science andTechnology and the Committee on Energy and Climate Change and contributed tothe World Economic Forum in Davos and Moscow. He is the recipient of researchgrants from the European Commission, UK Department of Energy and ClimateChange, Natural Environment Research Council and the Department of Trade andIndustry.
